Introduction to post-16 technical qualifications
Why is IfATE now involved with approving level 3 and level 2 technical qualifications?
IfATE already supported groups of employers to develop the ‘occupational standards’ for apprenticeships, T Levels, and Higher Technical Qualifications.
These ‘occupational standards’ set out the knowledge, skills and behaviours students must learn to be considered competent in their jobs.

We have used the experience of first approvals on the digital route to refine and evolve the process ahead of future cycles.

Require employers to be more transparent about the balance of online and face-to-face training and support they offer to their apprentices.

Exciting new dawn for employer-led technical qualifications at level 3

IfATE already supported groups of employers to develop the occupational standards – setting out the knowledge, skills and behaviours students must learn to be competent in their jobs – guiding apprenticeships, T Levels, and Higher Technical Qualifications. These will now guide level 3 technical qualification approvals and eventually level 2.

Review looks to inclusive and digitally driven future for sales, marketing, and procurement

IfATE is helping to address this through the recent launch of its occupational maps, which provide a comprehensive guide to training opportunities.
It was also recognised that sales, marketing and procurement is experiencing a digital revolution.
