Route reviews restart after COVID-19 lockdown

Wide-ranging reviews to help strengthen apprenticeships and technical education have been relaunched today
Key focus will be on the hair and beauty; creative and design; agriculture, environmental and animal care; and engineering and manufacturing sectors
Today (18 September) marks the return of ‘route reviews’ for technical education across different employment sectors.
They were postponed in March due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

Review looks to inclusive and digitally driven future for sales, marketing, and procurement

The findings are part of an influential report published today by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE), following its review of skills needs for these sectors, which looks at what is working with apprenticeships and wider technical education and key priorities looking ahead.

Apprenticeships boosted under plans to broaden UCAS

Young people will be able to use UCAS to search and apply for apprenticeships, alongside degrees, under new plans announced today (6 February).
From this autumn, UCAS will expand their service so that young people can see more personalised options, including apprenticeships.
