In December 2024 the Department for Education announced that the T Level in Onsite Construction will be withdrawn.

The Onsite Construction T Level is providing valuable education, industry experience and a positive route into employment to those who take it. However, its success has been limited because of a lack of demand for a qualification at level 3. For this T Level, government has concluded that the needs of learners are best met through apprenticeships and other classroom provision.

Therefore, there will be no new enrolments taken for the Onsite Construction T Level. Those already on the T Level will be able to complete it as planned and progress into positive destinations post-graduation.

T Levels remain government’s flagship technical qualification for 16-19 year olds, with tens of thousands of students studying or having studied T Levels.
